The Rescue Ranch founders recognized many years ago the needs of these abandoned, neglected or unwanted dogs. The issue was beyond taking in a stray. The original shelter was small although the need was great. Through the years the shelter has moved and grown. In 2000 a 10-acre parcel in Yreka, California was donated to Rescue Ranch. A new facility is being developed for better care and housing for these innocent companions. Development of this site relies on donations. The Board of Directors continues to work for the completion of the shelter while planning for the future. This new facility will comfortably house many dogs as well as maintain open areas for exercise. The goal was to develop an indoor kennels, provide a better buffer with neighbors and implement an engineered waste control system. Our future goals include a Veterinary Clinic, Grooming Center, Boarding Facility and an Agility Training Center.
